King Charles III is set to feature in a new documentary for Amazon Prime Video, focusing on his long-standing commitment to environmental conservation.

Filming is already underway, with the project expected to highlight the King’s charity work both in the UK and overseas.

The documentary will also explore themes from his 2010 book, Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World, which calls for a fundamental shift in how society interacts with nature.

A Buckingham Palace told News men that the King is “greatly looking forward” to bringing these concepts to a new audience.

A Historic Partnership with Amazon Prime
This collaboration marks a departure from tradition, as the Royal Family has historically favored British broadcasters for major televised appearances. The decision to work with Amazon underscores the growing influence of global streaming platforms in the media landscape.

The move also draws comparisons to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who signed a high-profile, multi-million-pound deal with Netflix. Their 2022 docuseries, Harry & Meghan, detailed their relationship and their decision to step back from royal duties.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s upcoming Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, has been delayed until March due to the Los Angeles wildfires.

Filming at Dumfries House
The King’s documentary is being filmed at Dumfries House in Scotland, a historic estate known for its sustainability initiatives. Reports suggest several platforms were considered before Amazon Prime was selected as the distributor.

According to The Times, which first broke the story, the film is expected to be released by late 2025 or early 2026.

As Prince of Wales, Charles was a prominent advocate for environmental action, and his influence has extended into his reign. While the monarchy requires him to remain politically neutral, he has continued to emphasize the urgency of climate action.

At the COP28 summit in December 2023, the King warned that humanity’s “survivability will be imperilled” unless balance is restored with the natural world.

A Buckingham Palace source described the documentary as an opportunity to “show, not tell,” how sustainability initiatives can transform people and communities.

With Dumfries House serving as a “living laboratory” for these ideas, the film aims to provide a compelling visual testament to the King’s lifelong environmental advocacy.
