As Muslims across the nation mark the sacred Eid-el-Kabir celebration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to remain hopeful and united, affirming that Nigeria is on a path of progress despite current challenges.

In a heartfelt message released Thursday and personally signed by the President, Tinubu acknowledged that Nigeria is not yet where it aspires to be, but stressed that recent reforms are beginning to yield positive results.

“Though the journey has not been easy, and some doubted our direction, the resilience of public and private sector leaders, along with the steadfast support of most Nigerians, is yielding results. I assure you that the toughest days are behind us,” the President said.

He emphasized that the essence of Eid-el-Kabir goes beyond religious devotion, calling on citizens to embrace values such as sacrifice, compassion, and unity in nation-building.

> “We may not yet be where we aspire to be, but I urge all Nigerians not to lose hope. Let us hold on to our faith and persevere. Our reforms are gaining traction, with key economic indicators now moving in a positive direction. Soon, all will feel the benefits.”

President Tinubu reiterated that the ultimate goal of his administration’s policies is not only economic growth but meaningful transformation in the lives of Nigerians.

“There are no quick fixes, but we are committed to repairing the foundations of our economy once and for all. Our administration will continue acting in the nation’s best interest, ensuring that the gains we are recording translate into improving people’s lives,” he said.

He reassured Nigerians of his government’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he described as a blueprint for national prosperity.

Solidarity With Flood Victims in Mokwa

The President also extended condolences to the victims of the devastating May 28 flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which claimed over 150 lives and destroyed homes and businesses.

“In this instance, I recall recent sad developments in our country, particularly the Wednesday, May 28 heavy flooding… Let us join hands with the government to bring succour to the people of Mokwa,” Tinubu urged.

Call for Prayers and Compassion

Tinubu called on Nigerians to pray for the nation, especially its leaders, frontline security personnel, and vulnerable citizens in need of compassion and support.

“Let the virtues of perseverance, sacrifice, loyalty, faith, and shared humanity bind us closer. May those who have more remember those in need, sharing kindness and support as true brothers and sisters,” he said.

The President concluded with prayers for peace, national unity, and divine blessings for all Nigerians during the festive period.
