Nigerian street-hop star Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has revealed his reasons for wanting to return to school despite achieving fame and success in the music industry.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the “Zazuu Zeh” crooner spoke passionately about the importance of education and how it could help him manage his career more effectively.
Portable said that going back to school would not only improve his professionalism but also make him a better role model for his children.
The singer disclosed that he had previously completed an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program at Kwara State Polytechnic, although he never collected his certificate. He added that his renewed interest in education comes from a genuine desire to grow intellectually and earn greater respect within society.
Portable emphasized that, despite his fame and street credibility, education remained essential for personal development, communication, and professionalism in the entertainment industry.
In his words: “I wan go back to school. I want to finish my education. I dey sponsor people’s children and my own children too. I don’t want my children to be mocked that their father is illiterate. I wan go back to school so that I will be able to manage my music career better, and it will also help in my dealings with people.”
