Kwara State Government has given an assurance of prioritizing women empowerment it will continue to place priority on wo for the socio-economic development of the Country.
The State Commisssioner for Communications, Mr .Olabode Towoju gave the assurance while addressing Journalists at the NUJ Press Center in Ilorin.
He said that speedy and meaningful development would be achieved when women were adequately involved in Governance.
Mr. Towoju stated that the State Government had renovated and constructed heath facilities to ensure safe motherhood in the state.
Mr Towoju explained that the State water-works had been overhauled to ensure availability of portable drinking water for the residents.
The Commisssioner noted that the State Government had also embarked on massive road construction to support free movement of goods and across the State.
In an address the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists Kwara state Council, Mallam Ahmed Abdulateef , said Journalists would continue to perform their responsibility of informing and educating the general public as well as holding public office holders accountable.
