President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his condolence to the Government and people of Zambia over the demise of it erstwhile President, Rupiah Bwezani Banda.President Buhari who commiserated with the President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, over the great loss, urged public officers to follow the footprints of the former leader, who began his service to public as a career diplomat, Vice President, Acting President, before leading the country between 2008-2011. The President mostly remarkably, acclaimed the stewardship and statesmanship of Banda, who handed over the mantle of leadership to a democratically elected in 2011, and also guided a peaceful transition in the country in 2021.He has however, urged leaders and citizens to always allow democracy to prevail despite all the contemporary challenges of democracy.As the African leader would be laid to a final resting place on March 17, 2022, President Buhari Muhammad urges more prayers for God’s comforting arms on his family and friends, while praying for the repose of his soul.
