Kaduna State Government Wants Bandits Hide-Out Destroyed

Governor Nasiru El-rufa’i of Kaduna State has advised the Federal Government to destroy all banditry-infested habitats in the northwest to end the terrible experiences bandits subject the people to.

The Governor said he had told President Buhari during a meeting with him that unless such an action was taken, the bandits would become more daring by partnering other terrorist groups to make life unbearable in any part of the country they wish.

He warned that governments in the northwest would take every necessary action to protect their peoples from the lingering terrorists’ attacks if the military failed to stop the advances of the terrorists.

While alleging that security agencies had fore knowledge of the train attack, Governor El-rufa’i wondered how proactive measures were not taken to thwart it.

According to him, security agencies know the habitats of the terrorists and even intercept their communications, but wondered why they had been allowed to live.

He observed that the attacks were aimed at discouraging foreigners from investing in the north and Kaduna State in particular, thereby impoverishing the people further.

The Governor, who said the Nigerian Airforce had built helipads in the banditry-infested village of Katari as an interim measure to track down the terrorists, condemned those politicising security matters, warning that his administration will prosecute personalities spreading lies to make political gains.
