The National Drug law enforcement agency NDLEA on Sunday said that the exportation of tramadol, Ecstasy MDMA and cannabis to Milan, Dubai and Italy, United Arab Emirates through the Muritala Muhammed international Airport at Ikeja Lagos have been foiled by it operatives.
Various pharmaceutical product and other illicit substances where seized during the raids by the NDLEA operatives across Kaduna, Yobe, Abia and Kogi state, it all amount to 203,879.
The NDLEA spokesman Mr Femi Babafemi said a female passenger by name Emiliana Odia was arrested why trying to board Royal Air Moroc Flight from Lagos via Casablanca to Milan, Italy with 1000 tablet of tramadol of 200mg inside the food items she was carrying.
He also said that about three trucks loaded with drugs which was coming from Lagos and Onitsha, Anambra where intercepted in Abia state, when search about 67,100 capsule of tramadol and 12,650 ampules of pentazocine morphine and dopamine where recovered from them.
Meanwhile about five members of a syndicate who and conducted a fake recruitment into the security agencies have been arrested in Zamfara, Kebbi and Bauchi state. One of them the leader of the gang yakubu sani was first arrested in Gusan, Zamfara state.
Items like fake NDLEA ID card, NDLEA guarantor form, INEC offer of appointment letter, Nigerian customs special replacement form and appointment letter, Nigerian correctional services replacement form, credentials of some applicant receipt and passport photo, five sim card and one MTN SIM where recovered.
The chairman and chief Executive of NDLEA Gen.Mohamed Marwa (retd) commended the officers and the men of MMIA, Abia, Kaduna, Yobe and Kogi for the arrest and seizures.
He also acknowledge the well conducted operation in Kebbi, Zamfara and Bauchi for arresting the fake perpetrator who posted as NDLEA officers .
