A Non-governmental organisation “Princess Sylvia foundation for the less privileged in collaboration with other humanitarian groups has organized a football competition march for the youth drwan from Bwari in FCT and Sabon Bwari in tafa local government area of Niger state with the aim of building the resilience of young people in the society.
The maiden match, which took place in sabon Bwari in Tafa local government area of Niger state was part of a talent development programme of the foundation to give back to the society.
The Converner, Ambassador Sylvia Sarki noted that the essence of the competition “tagged “reducing conflict and promoting peace.
was to give the upcoming footballers an opportunity to showcase their talents and promote the spirit of love, peaceful co-existence and competitiveness among the children in the areas.
According to her the Foundation shall continue to partner with well meaning Nigerians, philanthropists as well as other organisations who show concern in this regard.
The program officer monitoring and evaluation of a non governmental organization Abiodun Esset initiative, Mr. Jacob Alagbe who is one of the co host said that the organisation was concerned about the plight of the upcoming younger ones in promoting unity through sports activities.
Mr. Alagbe further explained the event will create better opportunities for skill development and educational growth of the youths to secure a better tomorrow.
In their separate remark,two of the traditional rulers the Estu Sabon Bwari, His royal highness Isah Issac and the Yerima Bwari Dimas Zamaiyi who commended the vision of the organiser for her intervention in encouraging the youth on sporting activities urged youths to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the programme to develop themselves.
