As part of efforts to position the Organization and Youths for positive impact as Presidential assent is being awaited, the Peace Corps of Nigeria, has signed an MOU with a United Nations based Information Technology firm to empower it’s members with digital skills.
The National Commandant of the Corps, Professor Dickson Akoh gave the indication during a News Conference in Abuja.
Professor Akoh said the target was to provide Essential Basic Digital Literacy Training to the Officers and Men of Peace Corps Nationwide.
Professor Akoh said his members would also explore further professional training in their chosen fields in the United Kingdom.
He said the MoU would enable the Company to establish Centers in the six Geo-Political Zones of the Country to train members in their respective Zones.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology firm, Mr. Samson Adeosun said the training would be on-going and at a very reduced cost.
Mr. Adeosun explained that the aim was to also contribute towards addressing unemployment in the Country.
