Election: Political Leaders Tasked On Reconciliation and Peaceful Co-existence – ELM Team Leader, Ibe-Kalu
The Team Leader, Every Lagosian Matters, ELM, Honourable Kenneth Ibe-Kalu has urged political leaders of thought to synergise and always sue for national reconciliation and peaceful co-existence as paramount factors of national survival.
Addressing newsmen on the State of the nation in Lagos, Mr. Ibe-Kalu appealed to the All Progressives Congress leadership including the President-Elect to consider zoning the office of the Senate President to the South East in the spirit of federal character principle.
The National News Conference dwelled on the outcome of a keenly contested Presidential and National Assembly elections held on 25th February and Governorship and House of Assembly Elections held in twenty eight states of the Federation on 18th March, 2023.
He said that the most qualified among the senators from the South East who had cognate and requisite experience, and exposure about Nigeria’s diversity remained Distinguished Sen Orji Uzor Kalu, the current Chief Whip of the 9th Senate.
He described former Governor, Senator Uzu-Kalu as an incisive Entrepreneur and political bridge builder.
Mr. Ibe-Kalu explained that such position would go a long way to rejuvenate trust and contribute to the development of our nation.
He congratulated the All Progressives Congress, (APC) and its entire support systems for winning the Presidency for the third time since 2015 it took the rungs of power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Team Leader also formally congratulated Nigeria’s President –Elect, Bola Tinubu for keeping a date with history in the recently concluded Presidential election where he came tops in a hotly contested three chord race.
He prayed that the Almighty God who enthroned him to the highest office in the land would give him the wisdom and strength to lead the country out of its present quagmire to a land of hope, unity, progress and prosperity.
He also congratulated His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for winning the 18th March, 2023 governorship elections with wide margin, an attestation that you are in tune and at home with every Lagosian.
Mr. Ibe-Kalu said the election was generally conducted in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility except for minor skirmishes in few places.
According to him, the election met the yearnings of Nigerians as upload of results were real-time by INEC.
He called on all contestants to see election as a competition where a winner must emerge and losing is not a sign of weakness but rather time and chance happens to them all says the Holy Scriptures.
He called on Governor Sanwo-olu to always see himself as the Father of Lagos State and Lagosians while looking into grey areas that have been the source of agitation with the aim of ameliorating them.
The Team Leader called on Lagosians to join hands as usual to support the developmental vision of the action Governor of Lagos State as he commence his last term in office from 29th May, 2023.
He congratulated and thank Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu for her spiritual leaning and exemplary leadership she provided to the Women of Lagos throughout the fours and during the campaign.
He thanked the people and leaders of Ndigbo and all every other ethic that show love and support for the Governor and the APC during the campaign and voting proper.
Mr. Ibe-Kalu congratulated the Christian community led by Bishop Stephen Adegbite for the stout support for His Excellency.
