The burial arrangements for a former Chief of Defence Staff, the late Lt. Gen. Oladipo Diya, who died at the age of 79, has been announced.
According to a statement signed by Simi Diya and confirmed by Babatunde Diya, the deceased will be laid to rest on July 29.
The statement, however, did not disclose where the burial will take place.
Before the burial, a night of tribute will be held on July 26, which will be followed by a service of songs on July 28.
On the day of the burial, a church service will be held for the deceased, followed by internment, reception, and entertainment before the remains of the deceased will be laid to rest.
The burial ceremony will conclude with a thanksgiving service on July 30.
“Further details will be made available in due course,” the statement added.
Diya died on March 26 at a Lagos hospital where he was taken to in the early hours of the day after complaining to family members of difficulty breathing.
According to his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Olawale Adekoya, Diya lived a normal life before his passing.
