The Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu has ordered the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah and the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brig- General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, to appear before it on Thursday, this week, to answer questions in respect of the alleged certificate scandal involving the governor.
The order followed a subpoena obtained by the Peoples Redemption Party and it’s governorship candidate in the March 18, gubernatorial election, Elder Christopher Agu.
Agu and his party, through their petition, are challenging the declaration of Mbah as governor of Enugu state.
The petition has Christopher Agu and the Peoples Redemption Party as Petitioners while the Independent National Electoral Commission, Peter Mbah, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are 1st, 2nd and 3rd Respondents respectively.
The Subpoena which was signed by Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Kudirat Akano, commanded Governor Mbah to appear in person, but however stated that the NYSC Director General or his representative must appear before the Tribunal to answer questions on its disclaimer of Peter Mbah’s NYSC Discharge Certificate.
