The Oyo State Government has demolished scores of shops of resident at a popular Ojoo market in Akinyele Local Government Area of the State on Thursday.
Reports had it that the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development had served the traders quit notice a long time ago but they refused to move out of the market.
According to the Chairman of the market, Mr. Muhdeen Ganiyu, fondly called Elewedu said that the quit notice was too short but the executive members of all the affected markers would meet. So, I cannot say anything for now.
Mr. Elewedu added that the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, had already gone there personally to address them and that the State government will compeciate them with another site. And the new place is not far. Just at the front of the Barracks.
