Students of the African Aviation and Areospace University have been advised to stand as a beacon of excellence and potential, not only for Nigeria and Africa but for the global aviation industry.
The Minister of Aviation and Areospace Development Mr. Festus Kayamo made the call during the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the AAAU Permanent Sit and the Maiden Matriculation of the AAAU.
Mr. Kayemo said the vision is to create a robust long term manpower development plan and also addressing the critical human resources gaps within the aviation sector.
He said that their are 30 pioneer undergraduate students and 60 post graduate students in various discipline aviation and environmental science.
The Minister express great gratitude to the unwavering support by President Bola Tinubu in bringing this vision to life.
He added that the initiative aligns perfectly with the renewed hope agenda of the current administration.
According to him the mission of the AAAU is to establish a center of excellence where cutting-edge research and innovation are not just encouraged but are the cornerstone of our academic programs.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, the Minister said that the project marks a significant milestone in our efforts to bridge critical gaps in the aviation industry and addressing the shortage of skills training and manpower development.
He added that the recent appointment of Alhaji Bukar Goni as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council by President Bola Tinubu, a former Head of Service of the Federation and the immediate past pro chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa balewa University will certainly take the university to greater height.
