President Bola Tinubu has approved the re-assignment of 10 Ministers to new portfolios.
Accordingly, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, Minister of State, Education, moves to Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation as Minister of State, while Dr. Morufu Alausa, Minister of State, Health, becomes Minister of Health.
Alhaji Bello Gwaranyo, Minister of State, Water Resources and Sanitation, goes to Ministry of Works as Minister of State, while Abubakar Momoh, Minister of Niger Delta Development, becomes Minister of the newly-created Ministry of Regional Development
Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Minister of State, Steel
Development, becomes, Minister of State, Regional
Development, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, becoming Minister of State, Finance.
Senator John Enoh, Minister of Sports Development, is now Minister of State, Trade and Investment [Industry], while Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of State, Police Affairs, becomes Minister of Women Affairs.
Ayodele Olawande, Minister of State for Youth Development, is now
Minister for Youth
Development, and Dr. Salako Adeboye, Minister of State, Environment, becomes
Minister of State, Health.
The President also relieved 5 Ministers of their appointments.
They include Mrs. Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs, Lola Ade-Joh Minister of Tourism, Professor Tahir Mamman,
Minister of Education, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.
Subsequently, new Ministers have been appointed.
They are Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian
Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment, Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu,
Minister of State Foreign
Affairs, and Dr Jumoke Oduwole,
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment
(Trade and Investment).
The rest are Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Ministry of Livestock
Development, Alhaji Yusuf Abdullahi Ata,
Minister of State,
Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State, Education
Briefing State House correspondents on the approvals, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said the President thanked the outgoing members of the Federal Executive
Council for their service to the nation, while wishing them the best in their
future endeavours.
The President equally charged the newly-appointed ministers and their reassigned colleagues to see their appointments as a call to serve the nation.
President Tinubu emphasised that the appointees must understand the administration’s determination to set Nigeria on the path to irreversible growth, urging them to invest the best of their abilities into the actualisation of the government’s priorities.
