Pastor Chris Okafor, the senior pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, also known as Grace Nation, has resumed his pastoral duties following a temporary step-down connected to allegations made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.

The allegations, which surfaced in late December 2025, included claims of a prolonged personal relationship, emotional manipulation, and an alleged unfulfilled promise of marriage.

Pastor Okafor has denied key aspects of the accusations. On December 28, 2025, he addressed the matter publicly during a church service, where he acknowledged what he described as past personal shortcomings and issued an apology to Doris Ogala, social media commentator VeryDarkMan, and members of the congregation, while maintaining that several claims circulating on social media were false.

In response to public reaction and counsel from senior Christian leaders, Pastor Okafor announced that he would temporarily step aside from active ministerial duties for a one-month period, which he described as a spiritual retreat for rest, reflection, and recalibration.

Upon his return, Pastor Okafor stated that he had undergone spiritual rehabilitation and characterized his return as a fresh beginning.

Members of his congregation received him with a bouquet, applause and expressions of support. Several supporters publicly dismissed the allegations as unfounded and motivated by attempts at extortion, a claim that remains unproven.

While segments of the public have continued to call for accountability and further clarification, Pastor Okafor has retained the support of his core congregation as he resumes leadership of the ministry.
