The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the resumption of passenger train services on the Abuja–Kaduna corridor, following the completion of safety, technical, and operational checks.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the NRC said the restart of services reflects its commitment to providing smooth, reliable, and secure rail transportation for Nigerians.
“This step underscores the Corporation’s commitment to ensuring smooth, reliable, and secure train services for the traveling public,” the NRC said.
Updated Abuja–Kaduna Train Timetable
The corporation also released the revised schedule for the resumed service as follows:
Abuja to Kaduna
- Departure from Idu: 8:45 AM
- Stop at Kubwa: 9:05 AM
- Arrival at Rigasa (Kaduna): 12:42 PM
Kaduna to Abuja
- Departure from Rigasa: 2:30 PM
- Stop at Kubwa: 6:02 PM
- Arrival at Idu: 6:23 PM
The NRC noted that Wednesdays are now reserved for routine maintenance, meaning passenger services on that day will be temporarily unavailable.
NRC Reaffirms Commitment to Safety and Reliability
The Chief Public Relations Officer of the NRC, Callistus Unyimadu, confirmed that services resumed only after all required checks were successfully completed.
“We remain steadfast in our mission to deliver safe, affordable, and efficient rail transportation that supports national connectivity and economic growth,” the Corporation said.
The NRC also thanked passengers for their patience and cooperation during the suspension period and pledged to provide more customer-friendly services nationwide.
