The Zamfara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sani Mustapha, has reiterated the agency’s commitment to safeguarding lives and properties across the state.
Speaking at the 2025 International Civil Defence Day celebration in Gusau, Mustapha emphasized the significance of the annual event, observed every March 1, to promote civil protection, security awareness, and crisis management.

Mustapha highlighted the NSCDC’s role in ensuring security through structured crisis management approaches and humanitarian services. He assured citizens that the Corps remains proactive in tackling security challenges across the state and the nation.
This year’s theme, “Civil Defence: Guarantee of Security for the Populace,” underscores the NSCDC’s dedication to emergency preparedness, response, and recovery during disaster incidents.
The event was attended by representatives from the Army, Police, Immigration, and other security agencies, who commended the NSCDC and called for enhanced collaboration to improve service delivery.
