The management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation,NRC,says it has confirmed the safety of 170 passengers out of the 362,who boarded train AK9 enroute Kaduna from Abuja attacked by bandits on Monday night.
In a statement by the Managing Director of the NRC,Mr Fidet Okhiria,21 passengers are however still missing,based on the families that the terrorists have been contacting via telephone.
The statement notes that four of the affected coaches have been re-railed and taken to Rigasa station.
It emphasises that work continues to ensure restoration of tracks and commencement of full train services.
The statement adds that adequate security arrangements are been made to forestall a recurrence of the unfortunate incident.
