Borno police recover N23.6m gold hidden during boko haram attack 15 years ago

The Borno State Police Command has successfully recovered gold worth N23.6 million for a woman who buried the valuables 15 years ago while fleeing a Boko Haram attack in Mallam Fatori.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso, confirmed in a statement that the woman, who requested anonymity, returned to the town years later and sought police support to locate the gold she had hidden in the sand during the insurgency.

Daso noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, commended the Divisional Police Officer of Mallam Fatori and his team for their professionalism, integrity, and diligence throughout the recovery process.
