The Ikorodu High Court in Lagos has mandated that three DNA tests be conducted overseas to confirm the paternity of Liam, the son of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The child’s paternity has been contested by Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer. Joseph Aloba had insisted that Mohbad’s remains, who passed away on September 27, 2023, should not be buried until a conclusive DNA test is conducted.
During the resumed hearing of the paternity dispute between Joseph Aloba and Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, on Tuesday, February 3, Mr. Oladayo Ogungbe, who is the counsel to Joseph Aloba, revealed that the court has ordered three separate DNA tests abroad.
The court directed that both parties submit three potential facilities each where the DNA tests could be conducted.
From these suggestions, the court will select one facility from each side, while also appointing a third independent center abroad. All three tests must be tissue-based DNA analyses.
The case has been adjourned until February 10 for further proceedings.
