In a significant move to strengthen the administrative structure of Rivers State, the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retd), has approved the appointment of 11 new permanent secretaries.
The announcement was made public through a Special Government Announcement issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The statement, signed by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Inyingi Brown, confirmed that the newly appointed officials would be sworn in at a later date to be communicated by the state government.

“The newly appointed permanent secretaries will be sworn in by His Excellency, the Administrator of Rivers State, on a date to be announced,” the statement concluded.
