… Urges Commission To Avoid Partisan Politics

A Youth Group, Concerned Deltans For Good Governance has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to comply with a Federal High Court judgement that qualifies David Edevbie to be enlisted as the authentic flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State.

They made the call during a protest at the INEC Headquarters in Abuja.

The Leader of the Group, Comrade Chris Anthony stated that INEC was commiting contempt for not obeying the court injunction.

“We hereby conclude by calling on the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to continue to maintain the recent high standard of INEC, so that it can continue to earn the trust of Nigerians. However, you should beware of the secretary’s activities that is capable of dragging the name of the commission to the mud”.

The Group carried play cards with inscriptions such as: “Court Is The Hope Of Common Man, Mahmood Obey Court judgement”, “INEC, Stop Playing With The Fortune Of PDP In Delta State” and “Democracy Thrives Well Only When The Rule Of Law Is Adhered To”.

The Group had protested at the PDP Secretariat demanding that the Leadership of the party obeys court order by submitting David Edevbie name to INEC as it’s Governorship Candidate.
