Nigerian music star Omah Lay has revealed that he recently declined an offer to collaborate again with Afrobeats heavyweight Davido, explaining that he needed to stay focused on his own artistic journey.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Omah Lay discussed how he has become more intentional about the partnerships he chooses, especially after experiencing rapid success in the industry.
He and Davido previously teamed up on the hit single “With You,” a collaboration that enjoyed massive airplay and earned widespread praise from fans around the world.
Despite the success of their earlier work together, Omah Lay said he felt it was necessary to prioritize his personal growth when Davido reached out for another project.
“After we dropped the hit song ‘With You,’ Davido called me for a new collaboration, but I declined because I have my career to pursue too,” he said during the interview.
