The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the construction, rehabilitation, and rescoping of 14 critical road projects across Nigeria at a cost of ₦242.68 billion, according to Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi.
Addressing State House correspondents, Umahi listed key projects, including the Agaie-Katcha-Baro Road (Niger State), Odukpani Junction-Calabar-Ikom-Ogoja Road (Cross River), Abeokuta-Ajibo and Iyana Mosa Roads (Ogun), and the Abaji section of Ibaji-Odulu-Ajibu Road (Anambra).
Others include the Umuahia-Ituano-Ikot Ekpene Road, Kaduna-Jos Road (Phase One), Yola-Fufure Road (Adamawa), Ijebu-Ibutita Ebe Road (Ogun), and Lamido Road (Taraba). Additional projects cover the Nkomoro-Isu Road (Enugu and Ebonyi), Aba-Owerri Road Dualization, Gashua-Bayamari Road (Yobe), Ikorodu-Shagamu Road (Phase One), and the remaining sections of Lagos-Ibadan Road.
Senator Umahi warned that contractors failing to meet project deadlines would have their contracts terminated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to timely and quality infrastructure delivery.
