President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to families affected by the recent terrorist attack on the Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
In a statement, the President mourned the loss of innocent civilians and security personnel following the assault carried out by fighters linked to Boko Haram. He also acknowledged casualties that occurred during an aerial operation by the Nigerian Air Force targeting terrorists fleeing the scene.
Tinubu described the attack as a brutal assault on innocent citizens and urged residents of Borno and other parts of the country not to give in to fear.
The President commended the Nigerian military for its swift response, which he said resulted in the killing of several terrorists and forced others to retreat.
He also directed the armed forces and other security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue individuals reportedly abducted during the attack.
Furthermore, Tinubu instructed security forces to strengthen measures aimed at protecting civilians and preventing further attacks on military formations in Nigeria’s North-East region.
The President offered prayers for the victims who lost their lives during the attack and subsequent military operations, while extending sympathy to their families and the Borno State Government.
