Nigerian singer Sola Allyson has opened up about the difficulties she has faced in her marriage, revealing that she has never experienced joy in her union despite still being legally married.
The music star disclosed that she and her husband now live in separate homes after years of unresolved challenges.
Speaking on the Oyinmomo Podcast, Allyson described marriage as a tough and often painful journey for her, noting that her experience was far from the happiness many people publicly celebrate.
“I must confess that I am married, but my husband and I decided to live apart; he in his house and I in mine,” she shared. “Marriage has been a big challenge. I hear people talk about joy in marriage, but I have never experienced it.”
The singer added that despite her dedication, the marriage “has not been successful,” leading them to mutually agree on living separately.
Allyson also addressed a common misconception about her music career, clarifying that she is not a gospel artiste. She explained that because her songs are spiritual and deeply reflective, many people mistakenly place her in the gospel genre.
“I am not a gospel singer. My name is Sola Allyson,” she stated. “Jesus does not need promotion, so I do not have to call His name in every song.”
