The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its online portal will open next week for prospective corps members (PCMs) to begin registration for mobilisation.

The scheme disclosed the development in a flyer shared across its official social media platforms informing eligible graduates to prepare for the upcoming registration process.

In the notice addressed to prospective corps members, the agency stated that only graduates whose names appear on the approved Senate or Academic Board lists uploaded by their institutions would be eligible to register.

“Attention, Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), I am happy to inform you that the NYSC portal will be opened for online registration from next week,” the flyer read.

The agency added that those eligible to register include “PCMs who have Senate/Academic Board approved results and whose details have been uploaded on the NYSC portal by their respective institutions.”

NYSC advised prospective participants to visit its official website and social media platforms for comprehensive guidelines on the registration process.

The scheme also emphasised the need for applicants to verify their personal information before commencing registration.

According to the agency, prospective corps members must ensure that the name on their records with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) corresponds with the one listed on the Senate list and on the NYSC portal.

Graduates were also urged to ensure that the names on their academic certificates or statements of results match the details provided during the registration process.

The scheme further directed applicants to confirm their information through the Senate list verification portal before proceeding with online registration.

The development comes amid recent reforms in the education sector aimed at strengthening the integrity of academic records.

Earlier, the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, announced stricter measures to curb certificate fraud, warning that graduates without proper documentation would not be eligible for mobilisation under the NYSC scheme.

Alausa said the Federal Government was strengthening institutional compliance and academic records management as part of broader reforms to protect the credibility of Nigeria’s education system.

The minister made the remarks during a national capacity-building programme organised to support the implementation of the Nigeria Education Repository and Data Bank.
