Gov Bago dissolves Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, orders immediate handover

The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), including the office of the Secretary to the Board.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, that the decision is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to reposition and reform the state’s education sector for greater efficiency, accountability, and improved service delivery.

Following the directive signed by the Coordinator, Press Affairs, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Lawal Tanko, all members of the dissolved Board, including the Secretary, have been instructed to handover all official documents, assets, and responsibilities of the Board to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

This move marks a significant step in the administration’s drive to restructure educational governance and enhance the quality of basic education across Niger State.

Governor Umaru Bago expressed appreciation to the outgoing Board members and the Secretary for their dedication, service, and contributions to the growth of basic education in the State.

He further wished them success in their future endeavors, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to raising education standards and ensuring transparency in educational management.
