Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has sparked conversations on social media following a recent Instagram post in which she discussed a hypothetical scenario involving an alleged affair between a married man and a married woman.
The post, which quickly gained traction online, has fuelled fresh speculation about the state of Ovire’s marriage to fellow actor Frederick Leonard, amid lingering rumours of marital discord.
It will be recalled that in 2024, veteran Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop alleged that the marriage between Ovire and Leonard was forced and had already collapsed, claims that were neither officially confirmed nor denied by the couple.
In her lengthy Instagram post, Ovire posed a question to women, asking how they would react if they discovered that their partner was having an affair with a married woman who also has children.
She described a situation in which the husband publicly praised the married woman while privately portraying her to his wife as “local,” allegedly to avoid suspicion.
According to the actress, the wife later discovered that her husband and the woman were involved in an intimate relationship, meeting either at his apartment during work hours or in hotels.
The post further suggested that after marriage, the husband began comparing his wife unfavourably with the married woman he was allegedly involved with.
“You asked him about it, but he totally denies it, saying they are just friends, and you completely believed him. You eventually got married to him. Your husband always hypes the married woman in public, but privately he tells you how local this friend of his is, just to manipulate you so you will not suspect a thing,” the post read in part.
Ovire added that despite repeated denials, the wife eventually discovered that her husband had continued visiting the woman, contrary to his claims that their relationship was strictly platonic.
While the actress did not directly reference her marriage or mention any names, the timing and nature of the post have led social media users to speculate about possible personal undertones. As of the time of filing this report, neither Peggy Ovire nor Frederick Leonard has issued an official statement addressing the speculation.
