The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the just-concluded 2025 Anambra State election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has alleged that the poll was marred by widespread vote buying.

Speaking to journalists in Awka, Prince Ukachukwu claimed that reports from across the state indicated that the election process was compromised by financial inducements.

He, however, commended APC supporters for their commitment, resilience, and loyalty throughout the election period, describing their efforts as evidence of “true democratic spirit.”

The APC candidate dismissed allegations that his party engaged in vote buying, stating that the election results themselves disproved such claims.

“If the APC was involved in vote buying, the outcome would have clearly reflected it,” Ukachukwu said.

He further noted that he would make a categorical statement after gathering and reviewing detailed reports from polling units across the state. Ukachukwu also hinted at plans to consult party leadersbefore making any official move regarding the election outcome.

In addition, the APC candidate alleged that the home of one of his supporters in Anambra East Local Government Area was set ablaze by hoodlums during the election, calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.
