Former Brazil international Hulk, who currently plays for Atlético Mineiro, has sparked widespread controversy after marrying Camila Angelo, the niece of his ex-wife, Iran Angelo, in a religious ceremony.

The 38-year-old footballer and Camila had previously completed a civil wedding in 2020, but images from their recent church ceremony reignited public debate around the relationship.

Hulk, who was married to Iran Angelo for 12 years, shared his joy on Instagram, stating that he feels “fulfilled in all areas of life.” His marriage to Iran produced three children — sons Ian and Tiago, and daughter Alice — who are also cousins to Camila.

The union has drawn strong criticism from within Iran Angelo’s family, particularly from her sister, Rayssa Angelo, who voiced her anger on social media.

Rayssa described the marriage as a betrayal and likened Camila to “Judas,” noting that the ceremony coincided with the anniversary of their mother’s death.

She accused Camila of betraying the family’s trust and characterized her actions as stemming from what she called an “empty heart.”

Reports indicate that Hulk began a relationship with Camila in December 2019, just months after separating from Iran. The footballer reportedly informed his family, including his children, of the relationship at the time.

Despite the backlash, Hulk and Camila have continued to publicly affirm their relationship, which remains one of the most talked-about personal stories involving the Brazilian star.
