The federal government has officially inaugurated the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) tasked with planning, organizing, and executing all events for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebration in 2025. This key step underscores the nation’s commitment to commemorating its historic milestone with patriotism and unity.
At the inauguration, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, emphasized the critical role of collective responsibility and national pride in fostering Nigeria’s ongoing development and nation-building efforts.
In a statement released by the SGF’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, Akume highlighted the significance of the anniversary as both a reflection of Nigeria’s past and a call to action for the future. “This anniversary is a reminder of where we are coming from and where we are going. Despite challenges in political, economic, and social sectors, Nigeria continues to advance,” Akume stated. “We must commit to building a nation where every citizen is valued and empowered to contribute to our shared goals.”
