Governor Sule condemns deadly attack in Keana, orders manhunt for gunmen

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has condemned the recent armed attack on Sarkin Noma community in Keana Local Government Area, which left two people dead and one person abducted. He vowed that those responsible would face the full weight of the law.

In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, Governor Sule describes the attack as “unacceptable and a direct threat to the peace and stability of Nasarawa State.”

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining security and ensuring that such incidents do not recur.

“The government will not tolerate any form of lawlessness or violence. We are fully committed to protecting every life and property in Nasarawa State,” the statement read.

According to Ahemba, the governor has directed security agencies to launch a full-scale manhunt for the attackers and ensure their swift arrest and prosecution. He noted that the state government is working closely with security operatives and community leaders to strengthen local intelligence and reinforce patrols in vulnerable areas.

Ahemba further disclosed that new security measures are being implemented to prevent future attacks and improve community safety.

“We are implementing new security measures to address the situation. Citizens are encouraged to support security agencies with timely and credible information that could help track down criminal elements,” he said.

Governor Sule also appealed for calm, urging residents to cooperate fully with law enforcement officers and to promptly report any suspicious activities in their communities.

He assured the public that the government is doing everything possible to safeguard lives and property.

Concluding the statement, the governor reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to sustaining peace across Nasarawa State.

“Government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that Nasarawa continues to be a safe and peaceful state,” the statement concluded.

The attack on Sarkin Noma marks a serious security challenge for the state, which has been working to maintain peace and stability in recent months. Security agencies are expected to intensify operations in Keana and other vulnerable areas as part of the new security measures announced by the governor.
