NGOs in Kebbi State Condemns Recent Killings

A coalition of Non-governmental Organizations in Kebbi State has condemned the recent killing of vigilante and soldiers by bandits in Zuru and Kanya village in the state.

Garba Abubakar Fakai of the Area Youth and Women Association for Good Governace, made the condemnation in Birnin Kebbi, said that, following a joint meeting by associations in the state, resolved to condemn in totality the recent bandits attack in the state were sixty five vigilantes, eighteen soldiers and the Aid of the state Deputy governor killed.

According to Abubakar Fakai, the meeting called on the Federal and State Gvernments to equip security operatives in the area with sophisticated weapons to confront the bandits.

The meeting also advised that, Kebbi State government should engage on campaigns on the need for western and religious knowledge especially those at the rural areas.

The coalition called for the involvement of traditional and religious leaders in the fight against the security challenges in the state.

It also called on the public to intensify prayers for peace to prevail in the state and the country.
