A yet-to-be-identified police officer has been assaulted by a mob after allegedly being caught stealing.
Details about what was stolen and where the incident occurred remain unclear. However, a viral video shows the uniformed officer being confronted and beaten by a group of agitated residents who repeatedly shouted “Olé” (thief).
In the footage, the officer can be seen pleading for mercy as the crowd forces him toward a nearby police station.
