The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has dismissed 43 personnel over offences including desertion, scandalous conduct, and patrol-related misconduct, reinforcing its zero-tolerance policy on indiscipline within the agency.
According to the Corps, 31 officers were dismissed for desertion, five for scandalous behaviour, and seven for misconduct linked to patrol duties.
It also emphasised that the disciplinary action underscores the Corps’ commitment to upholding professionalism and accountability across its ranks.
FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, described the move as a strong statement that ethical violations and breaches of duty will not be tolerated. He emphasized that the FRSC badge represents honour, responsibility, and service, and any officer who falls short of these standards will face appropriate sanctions.
Mohammed noted that desertion constitutes a serious violation of service oath, particularly in a safety-critical organisation tasked with protecting millions of road users daily.
He added that scandalous conduct and patrol misconduct undermine public confidence and contradict the Corps’ core values of discipline, transparency, and operational excellence.
The FRSC management reassured Nigerians that it will intensify internal monitoring, strengthen supervision across commands nationwide, and promote ethical standards within the organisation.
The Corps also urged the motoring public to maintain confidence in its mission to ensure safer roads across the country.
