A female Student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Yakubu, has reportedly, been killed.
Deborah, a 200 level student, supposedly had an argument with fellow students online and the muslims amongst them, claimed she profaned prophet Muhammad, thus she was ambushed by the muslim male students, stoned to death and was set in flames.
The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese expressed sadness, on the brutal act carried out in Sokoto, of which he condemned in very strong terms.

The Bishop added that, the inhumane act, has nothing to do with religion as Christians have been living peacefully with fellow muslims in Sokoto, over the years.
The Bishop, calls on the Sokoto state government and relevant authorities to investigate the incident and must bring the perpetrators to justice.
He, therefore, calls on all Christians to remain calm and pray for the repose soul of Deborah Yakubu.
Meanwhile, the Sultanate Council Sokoto has condemned the incident and called on security agencies to bring perpetrators of the murder to book.
This is contained in a statement by the Secretary of the Council.
