The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, recently paid him a visit in Abuja as part of ongoing reconciliation efforts to resolve the political crisis in the state.

Wike, who served as the immediate past governor of Rivers State, disclosed this on Monday during a media parley with select journalists in the nation’s capital. According to the FCT Minister, Fubara was accompanied by two other unnamed governors during the visit.

“Yes, he visited,” Wike told reporters when asked to confirm the reports of the meeting.

While details of their discussions remain undisclosed, sources suggest the visit is part of discreet moves to mend the fractured political relationship between the two leaders, which has contributed to tensions within the Rivers State political landscape in recent months.

This development comes months after Governor Fubara’s suspension and the escalating political rift that followed his fallout with Wike, his political benefactor and predecessor.

More updates to follow as the story develops.
