A Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos state, has discharged Miss Comfort Emmason of charges bordering on unruly behaviour and assault aboard an Ibom Air aircraft from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday, this week.
Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge against Emmason after the Commissioner of Police, Lagos Airport Command, withdrew the case.
At the resumed hearing, Counsel for the prosecutor, Oluwabunmi Adeitan informed the court of new developments that necessitated the withdrawal.
Adeitan stated that her withdrawal was in accordance with Section 72(1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Counsel for the defendant, Adams Atakpa argued that he was aware of the decision and had no objection to the prosecution’s application.
his ruling, Magistrate Salami advised Miss Emmason to exercise some level of wisdom in her endeavours, no matter the aggravation, adding that she played a role in some regards in the controversy.
Magistrate Salami subsequently struck out the five-count charges and discharged the defendant.
Emmanson was initially arraigned in court on Monday, this week, and granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
However, she was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after failing to meet the bail conditions.
