Lagos, Dec 12, 2025 (NAN) Ghana’s Nii Offei Dodoo has intensified his verbal assault on Rasheed ‘ID Buster’ Idowu ahead of their Boxing Day showdown at GOtv Boxing Night 34.
Dodoo warned that the Nigerian champion “will be shocked” and cut down to size when they meet in Lagos.
He said the Nigeria–Ghana rivalry brings extra fire, adding that he is travelling with a clear mission: “to end Idowu’s run.”
Dodoo insisted he would halt Idowu’s momentum and derail his growing reputation before his home supporters.
The Ghanaian, noted for durability and discipline, called the bout “the perfect stage to humble a loud opponent.”
Reacting to Idowu’s boasts, he dismissed the champion’s confidence as misplaced and poorly judged.
“I’ve seen fighters like him before. Strong punchers who think power is everything.
“But boxing is not a street fight. It requires strategy, timing, and patience, not reckless aggression.
“If ID Buster thinks he will overwhelm me, he is making a big mistake.
“I am coming to silence Lagos and show him what real ring intelligence looks like,” Dodoo said.
He argued that Idowu has grown “too comfortable” fighting at home and leaning on crowd support.
“He has the crowd and noise, but none of that helps when the bell rings,” the Ghanaian said.
“I trained for every scenario. I didn’t come to Nigeria to admire the city. I came to win,” he boasted.
The Dodoo–Idowu showdown headlines a packed GOtv Boxing Night 34: Jams Festival schedule.
The event features six bouts, live music, and on-stage performances from artistes including Showday.
Organisers describe it as one of December’s most vibrant sporting and entertainment showcases.
GOtv Boxing Night 34 will air on SS Africa 1, with support from GOtv, MultiChoice, ZetaWeb, and Lagos Cable.
The fights will take place on Dec. 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
