Nigerian skit maker and social media personality Chinonso Ukah, popularly known as Nons Miraj, has sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing her controversial perspective on romantic relationships.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance with actor and content creator Taymesan Emmanuel, Nons Miraj suggested that men can prove genuine love by renting accommodation for their girlfriend’s entire family if they are financially disadvantaged.
According to her, such gestures should be considered when dating women from less privileged backgrounds. Her comments appeared to surprise the podcast host, Taymesan, as the clip quickly gained traction online.
“Why can’t your senses tell you, as a man, that you are attracted to this type of girl? How do you show that you love her and care for her? You move her and her family out of where they are staying. Yes, rent a place for them,” she said.
She further questioned the morality of maintaining long-distance relationships while a partner lives in poor housing conditions.
“If you are abroad talking to a girl, would you leave her to be staying in a place where rain falls and water enters through the roof?” she added.
Her remarks had since generated mixed reactions, with many social media users debating expectations, financial responsibility and boundaries in modern relationships.
