Late Singer Ifunanya Nwangene laid to rest in Enugu

The remains of late Nigerian singer Ifunanya Nwangene were laid to rest on Friday, February 14, in her hometown in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The 26-year-old artiste was confirmed dead at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abuja, after reportedly suffering a snake bite at her residence on January 31, 2026.

According to reports, Nwangene was rushed to two hospitals, including the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja, in search of urgent medical treatment. However, it was alleged that both facilities did not have the required anti-venom needed to treat her condition.

Her passing sparked widespread grief, with fans, colleagues and members of the entertainment industry taking to social media to express shock and pay tribute to the young singer, who was steadily gaining recognition for her remarkable voice and promising career.

Family members, friends and well-wishers gathered in Enugu State to bid her a final farewell, describing her death as a painful and tragic loss.

She was 26.
