Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Anniversary.

Ambassador Tuggar described the day as a proud reminder of the resilience, determination, and unity of the Pakistani people in their historic quest for self-determination. He noted that Nigeria joins Pakistan in celebrating shared ideals of freedom, dignity, and mutual respect—values that continue to strengthen the bonds between both nations.

He emphasised Nigeria and Pakistan’s long-standing cordial relations, built on decades of cooperation in education, trade, defence, and cultural exchange, as well as their collaboration within multilateral organisations including the Commonwealth of Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the United Nations.

“On this special occasion, Nigeria reaffirms its dedication to deepening our ties, exploring new areas of mutual benefit, and addressing shared global challenges with Pakistan,” Tuggar said, while wishing the South Asian nation continued progress, unity, and prosperity.
