The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma has destroyed a major terrorist stronghold and meeting point concealed within the hilly terrain of Zamfara State.
Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, revealed that the breakthrough followed precision air interdiction missions conducted on 14 November 2025 at the Sauri bandit camp in Tsafe Local Government Area.
He explained that the strikes were launched after extensive intelligence and surveillance confirmed increased terrorist activity in the area, including rustled livestock being kept at a high-ground hideout used as both a defensive position and a logistics base.
“Acting on this intelligence, the Air Component executed several coordinated strike passes, delivering direct hits that forced surviving terrorists to flee into surrounding vegetation, where they were tracked and neutralised,” Ejodame stated.
The operation led to the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of key structures, weapons stores, and supply points, significantly degrading the group’s operational capacity in the region.
Ejodame added that the mission underscores the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who has repeatedly pledged that the NAF will “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”
The NAF noted that the successful strike further demonstrates Operation Fansan Yamma’s determination to deny terrorists safe havens, reinforce security in Zamfara, and support national efforts to restore peace across the Northwest.
