Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has just unveiled one of the most significant updates to WhatsApp, which will forever change the messaging app and make it more like a social network.
WhatsApp Communities will allow people to combine related group chats into private social networks under one banner.
Schools, for example, could combine all of their group chats into a single community, along with a parent’s WhatsApp chat, to deliver important announcements to everyone.
In a business setting, a restaurant could set up three different WhatsApp group chats for different staff teams, all managed by a single admin.
