Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), the most-watched reality TV show in Africa, is set to return for its milestone 10th season with a double launch weekend beginning Saturday, July 26, and continuing on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
In what promises to be the most explosive edition yet, organisers at MultiChoice Nigeria confirmed during a media briefing on Wednesday that the Season 10 winner will walk away with a record-breaking ₦150 million grand prize—the highest payout in the show’s history since its inception in 2006.
Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as host, ushering viewers through 10 weeks of unfiltered drama, strategic gameplay, and premium entertainment, culminating in the grand finale on October 5, 2025.
“This isn’t just another season. It’s a celebration of the Big Brother Naija legacy,” said Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of General Entertainment at MultiChoice. While the official theme for the season remains under wraps, it will be unveiled during the premiere.
The journey to the Big Brother house began in May, with online auditions from May 3 to 7, followed by physical screenings in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu from May 16 to 18, aimed at selecting Nigeria’s most vibrant and diverse personalities.
During the briefing, Ebuka shared that BBNaija has featured 197 housemates, aired for 709 days, and awarded ₦637 million in prizes across its nine previous seasons. The most recent season, themed No Loose Guard, saw housemates enter as pairs before eventually competing solo. Kellyrae, who made history as the first married housemate to win, took home ₦100 million. Fan favorites included Wanni X Handi, the Mbadiwe twins, Onyeka, Nelly, and Shaun.
Season 10 will air live at 7 p.m. WAT on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Family, and Showmax, with a 24-hour live feed available on DStv Channel 198, GOtv Channel 49, and Showmax. Fans can also tune in on the go via the DStv Stream and GOtv Stream apps, available on Android and iOS. The traditional Sunday night eviction shows will return weekly on all platforms.
