The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) says disciplinary action will be taken against social media personality Vincent Otse, known as Verydarkman (VDM), and comedian Mr Jollof after the two men engaged in a physical confrontation aboard an Asaba–Lagos flight on Monday.

In a statement shared on X, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, condemned the altercation, describing it as “unacceptable behaviour” that endangered passengers, crew members, and the safety of the aircraft.

“There is no tolerance for unruly behaviour aboard an aircraft. Both individuals will face the full strength of the law,” Achimugu said, adding that it was particularly troubling because both men regularly use their platforms to educate followers against such conduct.

The airline operating the flight is expected to file an official incident report to the NCAA, after which regulatory and legal actions will be initiated.

According to the Authority, the clash rooted in an ongoing online dispute between the two influencers, escalated into a physical fight inside the aircraft cabin. Passengers and crew members intervened to restore calm as the commotion threatened safety protocols.

VDM later posted a video on Facebook claiming responsibility for confronting Mr Jollof during the incident, further fuelling public attention.

The NCAA reiterated its commitment to enforcing aviation safety standards and warned that unruly behaviour onboard any aircraft carries severe penalties under Nigerian aviation regulations. Additional actions will follow once the airline submits its report.
