Over the weekend, social media was abuzz with speculation that Nollywood actress Chika Ike was expecting a child with Delta Senator Ned Nwoko and that he was preparing to take her as his seventh wife.
However, Chika has now put the rumors to rest. Taking to her Instagram page, the actress dismissed the claims as completely false. She clarified that Nwoko is not the father of her child and firmly stated that she has no interest in becoming anyone’s seventh wife, as polygamy is not for her.
In a strongly-worded statement, Chika expressed her frustration over the persistent falsehoods spread about her, but emphasized that this particular rumor was different because it involved her child.
“There have been all sorts of lies peddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them like what they are—rumors that needed no response. But this is different. This is about my child,” she wrote.
She also addressed the speculation surrounding her private life, asserting that her pregnancy remained a secret for months, proving how little people truly know about her.
“Ned isn’t the father of my child, and whoever’s name you come up with later in your guessing games—it’s still false. I’ve been pregnant for months, and no one had a clue until I announced it. You all think you’ll know who the father of my child is or anything happening in my life? Very laughable!”
Despite the ongoing gossip, Chika remained unfazed, stating that she values her privacy and peace above all else. She concluded her statement by reaffirming her joy in this new chapter of her life, saying she is “basking in the euphoria” of her pregnancy.
With this firm response, Chika Ike has made it clear that she will not tolerate false narratives, especially when it comes to her child.
