EFCC Busts Alleged Fraud Syndicate in Bauchi, Recovers Cars, Gadgets

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Gombe Zonal Directorate, has arrested 21 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Bauchi State.

 

The arrests, carried out on Saturday, March 15, 2025, were based on credible intelligence indicating the suspects’ alleged involvement in cybercrime. The operation took place at Kaure New Government Reservation Area (GRA) and Awala, along Maiduguri Road in Bauchi.

 

According to a statement by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, items recovered from the suspects include a BMW and a Toyota Camry, three PlayStation 5 consoles, 30 high-end mobile phones, a flat-screen television, six Point of Sale (POS) machines, four iPads, and five laptops.

 

The anti-graft agency stated that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
